Metropolitan Police Drama on DVD

I’m a bit addicted to detective fiction, especially the American stuff, and in television they’ve a fine pedigree with NYPD Blue, Law & Order, Homicide and so forth…

That’s not to say we can’t do it well, and two fine British series are getting DVD releases. The first series of The Bill came out in June and although I didn’t watch it back then I watched later series (before it jumped the shark in 2000) and I’m looking forward to seeing how it all started.

Better still, Between the Lines – Series 1 is out in October. I just happened to come across this while browsing, despite the fact it’s one of the series I’ve been looking for since the medium was invented. Neil Pearson, Tom Georgeson, Siobhan Redmond and the late Tony Doyle are superb in this excellently written series about the CIB
