  1. Oooo! I thought it was just the processor, but there’s double-layer support if you get one with a SuperDrive, which pushes back the next obsolescence horizon even further. It gets better!

  2. Ooh, fightin’ talk. Can’t decide whether to take the challenge (and take delivery early next week) or wait until Saturday when I’m going up to Regent Street, on the off chance they’ll still have some left by then…

  4. I’ve ordered it. On reflection, buying on Saturday would involve lugging the MacBook to the theatre (not a good idea) and a printer too.

Oh yes, I bought an HP Deskjet 5940 for £59 with a £60 rebate (well, I need a printer, and the price seemed right).

    But:

    Estimated Shipping: 13 Nov, 2006

    Estimated Delivery: 22 Nov, 2006 – 23 Nov, 2006

That’s the three days to “get it ready” plus 3-7 days shipping (I hope their estimate is just assuming the worst) meaning STILL NO MACBOOK FOR TWO WEEKS. Ouch.

  9. Congrats! Unless they’ve got a whole new generation of random poweroff problems, you’re going to love that machince.

I see you’ve probably already got an iChat AV tester, but if you need another test system, send me a note and I’ll pass you my AIM account.
