“Orphan 55” review (podcast episode)

I guess holiday companies reckon January is a good time to get people to book holidays – when they’re longing for a bit of sun and warmth. So it’s also a good time to juxtapose some vacation satire with a bit of climate crisis horror.

Listen to our Fusion Patrol discussion as we talk about politics in Doctor Who with specific reference to when it works and when it needs a shouty lecture tacked on at the end. And if there was a half decent base-under siege story in there whether it just needed a bit of a script polish, or whether the strangely awful direction and editing would have killed it anyway. And how Graham has become a caricature. And why we were prepared to forgive everything to see the Doctor talking herself out of oxygen…

You can listen to our discussion on the Fusion Patrol website, or wherever you get your podcasts…
