I know it doesn’t work like this, but I like to think of the Academy members behind their sofas watching The Girl in the Fireplace:

“This episode is fantastic” cries one “It’s witty, sexy, action packed, moving, we must recognise this!”

“Yes” agrees another, “we must give Doctor Who a BAFTA as soon as possible – preferably within the next 24 hours”.
