No Stephen Fry Episode in Doctor Who Season 29

After pushing it back from season 28, Stephen Fry, in a Douglas Adams Continuum webchat said “Ah, now, unfortunately, I’ve had to pull out of the Dr Who gig. Lack of time. I just couldn’t find three minutes to string together. Barely enough time to go to the lavatory these days, let alone take on new projects. Sorry about that… ”

Obviously this is terribly upsetting, but the rest of the chat includes some interesting nuggests, such as speculation about a Fry-scripted Dirk Gently film (which would presumably, being based on the book, contain elements written for…. Doctor Who) and a guest appearance with best buddy Hugh Laurie in House. It would be great to see them on screen together again.

He also revealed that he owns:

  • 3 Intel iMacs and one G5 iMac
  • Two Mac Minis
  • 2 MacBook Pros and one G4 Powerbook
  • A dual processor G5 Powermac

Doctor Who, Dirk Gently, Macs and House all in one chat, wow….

  1. I was desperate to find out what you thought of that rather rubbish doctor who tonight! Where is the analysis?!

from ronnie (who thought it was so rubbish she almost went back to marking scripts half way through…..)

  2. Okay, okay! I didn’t see this until quite late last night, and I didn’t think I had that much to say about the episode… But I’ll get on to it.
