Blogging on Wooltack

I finally got an iPhone. The trauma of its aquisition is still too raw (and I’m still too poor a typist) to relate, so this is a test for the WordPress App, to see if I can post a picture from the phone…

Edit: practising editing and getting used to photo orientation (taking photos with the app isn’t as intuitive as it could be). I notice the iPhone keyboard doesn’t seem to have the thingies for doing HTML…

  1. “You’ve just taken your first step into a larger world.”

or perhaps I should ue a different Star Wars quote, “I just felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices cried out in terror and then were silenced.”

    … anyway…

Yes, WordPress app works OK, and is quite fun for snapping a photo and then just writing a quick posting, but HTML is a chore!

  3. Wooltack as in Pembs. I’ve just come back into signal range… I was on Orange primarily because the other networks had no coverage here. I’m pleased to discover O2 is just as good, which is to say patchy but at least useable in places.

  5. Actually, going in and out of range, one of the coolest things about the app is being able to compose posts offline. If they could add this for comments that would be even niftier. And since the best reception is often on the clifftop the phone is an improvement regardless of network, because while I could tote the MacBook out to a good reception areato use it with my old phone as a modem I’m hardly likely to bother. But I’ll slip the phone in my pocket and when it picks up a signal – woosh – off go my emails and I can stop look something up online if I need to as well.
