This has to be the best directed episode of Doctor Who that I have seen.

I didn’t warm to this well-crafted by the numbers Doctor Who/Overcoming the Monster episode.

Capaldi’s forced smile is the terrifying midpoint between Tom Baker and Malcolm Tucker and justifies this glossy but rather hollow episode on its own.
